Sabudhana / Sago Kheer Recipe - Javarisi Payasam

Hi fellow followers, good to see you in my new post. Im generally not a great fan of sweets or desserts. But there are a few mild sweetened items like Mango Lassi,  Ras Malai, Rasagulla which i love the most. Here is a recipe of one such item... Sabudhana/Sago Kheer

Step By Step Procedure

Step 1:  Add 1 cup of sabudhana/sago in a bowl and fill water till it submerges. Let it soak for 20mins or till it becomes mushy and double up in size

Step 2: Add 2tb spoon ghee, little cashew nuts fry till golden brown

Step 3: Add 1 cup vermicelli, mix it up with the ghee, and fry for 1 min

Step 4: Add 1 glass of water, mix it with the other ingredients, then add one glass of milk

Step 5: Allow it to boil till the vermicelli turns double size and cooked

Step 6: Add Soaked sabudhana / sago along with the water. If u had added water just to get it immersed now there wont be much water along with sabudhana. If u had added more water accidentally, remove excess water before adding. Boil for 5-10 mins till all sago becomes transparent

Step 7: Add 1tb spoon cardamom powder, 3 tb spoon sugar and mix well

Step 8 : Serve in a bowl, and garnish with broken pistachio, almonds and currants / raisins.
