Sesame Seed Rice Recipe | Ellu Podi Sadham
I have always been anemic throughout my life. Have taken numerous tests. All the tests shows no cause for my anemia. I always have heavy bleeding and this is my major issue that causes anemia. One can take tablets but it is going to be throughout my life. After a point i started following a lot of home remedies to cure my anemia.
Taking sesame rice is one of the things. I used to take this rice at least 4 times a week in my breakfast. I also used to have Curry leaf rice or Silver Beets ( swiss chard ) at least twice a week in my diet
So here goes in the recipe for sesame rice
Step by Step Recipe
Step 1: Wash the sesame seeds nicely twice or thrice and spread it over the plate till it dries ( might be you can leave it overnight )
Step 2: Fry the sesame seeds till it splutters
Step 3: Add 1 cup of Urad dhal / Whole Black Gram, 1/4th cup of Channa Dhal / Chickpea Lentil, solid hing ( katti perungayam ) and fry till golden brown without oil
Step 4: Add 2 spoons of crushed red chilli or 4 to 5 long or round red chillis and saute for 2 mins till u get the aroma of chilli
Step 5: Add all the mixture into a blender, and blend it into a fine powder. Store the powder into a air tight container.
Step 6: To make rice, take freshly cooked white rice, a table spoon of ghee. Add 2 spoons of sesame powder and mix well.
Store the sesame seed powder in a airtight container. Refrigerate and can be used for minimum 3 months
